AI in the Higher Education Classroom (101712)
Session: On Demand
Room: Virtual Video Presentation
Presentation Type:Virtual Presentation
The focus of this presentation will be on providing an overview of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as the use of AI in the higher education classroom by both instructors and students increases. There are many benefits associated with AI that will be addressed in the presentation. According to Klein (2025), “AI also offers numerous benefits to higher education professionals, helping them to streamline their work and improve efficiency” (para. 7). However, we are aware of, and will share, the challenges associated with AI as well. During this online presentation, the three presenters will share ways that AI is utilized in the development of courses, syllabi, and activities. As students become more and more comfortable utilizing AI, instructors in higher education must be more aware over how to monitor student work to ensure authentic learning. Tips and strategies to manage student usage of AI while still continuing to demonstrate their own work will be shared. Each of the presenters have worked in higher education for many years and have seen the progression of AI. During the presentation, we will share our journey with AI in our own classrooms and share how our universities have navigated these changes. However, the presenters will also share AI resources that are useful tools for higher education instructors to take and utilize in their own classrooms. Our goal is to share our experiences and resources to help enhance learning in other higher education classrooms around the world.
