The rise of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) has generated a distinct art style termed here as crypto-aesthetics. This style integrates digital and traditional art forms, engages with concepts such as decentralization and blockchain, and emphasizes scarcity and digital ownership. This paper examines crypto-aesthetics in NFT art through the lens of New Materialism, particularly drawing on the theories of Karen Barad and Jane Bennett. This theoretical approach elucidates how crypto-aesthetics emerges from the interplay among objects, agency, networks, and broader social and historical contexts. By emphasizing the influence of both human and non-human actors, this perspective provides a more comprehensive understanding of how NFTs are transforming art, value, and culture. The proposed framework offers a novel methodology for analyzing and interpreting the rapidly evolving domain of NFT art and its distinctive characteristics.
