Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming education methods for various disciplines. Amid the fast technological innovation, the uses of AI in hospitals and by medical professionals are diverging. According to an international survey, only one third of medical students have received any formal AI education in their curriculum, and some doctors have been trained to utilize AI-assisted clinical systems. AI literacy is now a fundamental component of contemporary medical education; therefore, this paper introduces medical AI course modules that students find most useful as well as some areas of instructional improvement to be better aligned with the existing curriculum of medicine. It also highlights successful models of AI integration in clinical practice along with the risks associated with adopting the technology when treating patients. By drawing on international case studies of major hospitals and medical schools, this paper examines such issues as algorithmic bias, misinterpretation of AI outputs, and security vulnerabilities that should be addressed by clinicians as well as AI competencies to be included in the medical curriculum.
